Breast enlargement aesthetics
The breast is one of the most dominant parts of a woman's body. It has
a very important meaning in a woman's life, both in terms of sexual identity
and functional purpose. The breast, which is a food source for a baby, is a
factor that determines sexuality for a woman. Sometimes in a statue, the symbol
of fertility (the multiple-eyed Cybele statue), sometimes in the hands of a
painter (Delacroix), is the symbol of freedom (freedom that leads to the
public). Breasts marked with so much meaning in life are one of the most
indispensable aesthetic elements of women. In this case, the lack of breast
tissue, if too small to be necessary at all, or any reason why the breast was
damaged, can all cause a psychological trauma in women. Therefore, as a
solution, a surgical procedure must be performed to optimize the breasts in the
ideal size or to completely reconstruct new. A woman regaining her
self-confidence will be more active in society and the happiness of what she
feels is spreading around her. (Breast enlargement surgery Izmir)
I am a suitable candidate for
breast augmentation?
It's about how much
you can accept your current situation. However, it is extremely unpleasant for
all women when the breast volume decreases and hangs. This table shows that it
can occur in these cases:
1) If from birth on, no breast tissue is present.
2) When during normal puberty, the normal development of breast
tissue is poorly developed (not achieving the ideal mass).
3) If the asymmetry between both breasts is
missing
4) If the breasts, after pregnancy or even through excessive
weight loss, are affected by volume loss and relaxation.
5) If women who exercise excessively suffer from
a significant decrease in breast volume due to estrogen suppression
6) An additional case in which the prosthesis is
used is the case of a sex change. At the transition to the female sex, a
"bag" of sufficient size for the prosthesis is first produced with
the help of silicone expanders. These are then removed and permanent silicone
prostheses are placed.
If you suffer from any of these conditions, you are a suitable
candidate for breast augmentation surgery. However, they can not undergo
surgery until they are 17 to 18 years old, when breast development is largely
completed. With very strong breasts, it will not be enough to place only one
prosthesis in the breasts. You should also undergo a breast lift during the
same session.
What type of prostheses should I use?
Although breast implants are made of silicone, liquid silicone
is no longer used as before. The use of liquid silicone was banned about 22
years ago because it is extremely harmful to the body. Today, breast prostheses
are made of solid silicone and filled with cohesive gel or saline. Dentures
made in the anatomical structure (in the form of drops) or round, rough or
flat, high or low profiles in various shapes, which are determined in the
examination of your doctor and according to your wishes. If e.g. Your mammary
glands may have a small volume and a thin-skinned breast structure, so a saline-filled
prosthesis may be felt on the skin. Therefore, in such cases, cohesive
gel-filled implants should be preferred. In addition, when using saline-filled
prostheses, the risk of trauma from breakage and leakage of fluid inside and
during certain movements, the audible water sound. Gummy bear prostheses
introduced in recent years have a harder silicone structure (Cohesive Silicone
Gel III). Risks such as unfolding or exploding do not carry it. Even if it
breaks, the shape does not change. Compared to the other prostheses, these are
significantly more expensive.
With which technique are the prostheses
placed?
This decision should be made with your doctor. If
your specific requirement is that the breast has no scars, then you can place
the prostheses either under the armpits or through the navel. Both methods have
their advantages and disadvantages. Entrances through the breasts occur in two
ways; from the nipple line or under the nipple line. Nowadays, the most
commonly used method is placement of the prostheses under the breast line. This
method provides a very good field of vision in the chest. Thus, the bleeding
control can be better performed. In addition, interventions in the pectoral
muscle allow for a dual-level technique, allowing placement. In 95% of my
patients, I use the underbust method.
How does the process go after the operation?
The breast augmentation is
performed under general anesthesia and lasts on average 1-1,5 hours. They spend
one night in the hospital and are released the next day. At the end of the
operation, the blood discharge channels located at both breasts are drawn
before discharge. When you leave the hospital, you will need to wear the
elastic breasts for a month. Activities that require you to use your arms
during the first week are limited. After your pain has significantly decreased
you can go back to work (on average at the end of the first week) (of course,
if it is a light work at the desk). After 7-10 days you can start with easy
sports, such as walks. To ensure the correct placement of the prostheses and
the faster resolution of the swelling, your doctor will explain the special
massage exercises that you can perform independently. On average, after 3-4
weeks, you can practice light sports and after 1.5-2 months you can now do
completely heavy exercises.
What are the risks of this operation?
First of all, the risks that can occur with all other operations
(bleeding, infections, bursting of the sutures, risk of anesthesia) also apply
to this operation. Such problems are very rare in a woman whose general health
is very good and whose test evaluations are normal.
In addition, poor scarring
(keloid, hypertrophic scarring), displacement of the prosthesis within the
breast (usually due to excessive opening of the "pocket") is among
the complications that can be observed.
The numbness of the
nipple is one of the complications that can occur after surgery. However, it is
not permanent and improves by itself over time.
The most
annoying complication of breast prosthesis surgery is the formation of capsules
around the silicone prosthesis. This is actually normal and consists of a thin,
soft, non-palpable capsule around all the prostheses. This is a natural defense
against a foreign body. However, sometimes this mechanism can cause overload
and cause a very thick capsule. Such a capsule is painful, brings the breast to
a hard stone-like consistency and can cause the prosthesis to shift on the
chest wall. The only cure is to completely remove the capsule tissue with a
second operation and insert a new prosthesis. The roughness of the surface of
the prosthesis, placement under the muscle and post-operative massage are the
factors that reduce the risk of capsule formation.

Prostheses do not cause cancer
or increase the risk of cancer. A woman with a prosthesis may have cancer,
which is independent of the prosthesis. There is no scientific evidence that
the silicone prostheses that have been used for decades can cause cancer. Even
though prosthetics can stay healthy in your body for years, none of the breast
surgery remains the same for the rest of your life. Gravitational effects,
weight loss, weight gain and breastfeeding can cause the breast structure to
sag or make the prosthesis appear under the skin. In such cases, you may need
to undergo a second surgery, such as prosthetic replacement and breast lift,
for treatment.
